FAQ
  • Do I have to use the Danberry Logo?
Yes and no. It depends on the usage case. See the examples below to better answer your question. If you have questions, please do not hesitate to reach out! I am not using my logo, only my name. - You can leave out the logo if you are not using your own, but the brand has to be represented in a smiliar font, size, and color as the font used for your name. Correct verbiage should read " The Danberry Co." or "The Danberry Co., Realtors". You cannot use a personal logo without also including the Danberry Logo. We also highly recommend that on any marketing detailing property information or business cards that you have the Danberry logo included somewhere on the design. DO NOT market your listings without a brokerage logo somewhere on your print materials to keep you safely in compliance. I am using my logo, tagline, or watermark somewhere on the piece. - You should utilize the danberry logo if other components of your brand are going to be present in addition to your name. I am advertising a property. - You should always include a Danberry Logo on any marketing materials that are advertising a property or piece of land. If you need to save on space, include a small logo with your text "The Danberry Co." at a proportional font size and likeness to your name.
  • How do I use my Logo with the Danberry Logo?
When using a personal logo, make sure that you are representing the Danberry logo with equal or higher visual weight. Take into account sizing, resolution, color, placement, and opacity. For example in Figure 1, the Danberry logo is smaller than the Design House logo. If you were to drag the DDH logo on top, it would overlap past the second oval. Your eye is drawn quickly to the fuschia color, the placement that is on the left, and larger size. In Figure 2 the coloration of both logos is the same. Your eyes read the logos from left to right like you would text. If you were to drag the DDH logo on top of the Danberry logo, it would fit within the outer oval. Please use your best judgment when utilizing personal logos. If you have questions we are happy to answer them! Print regulations are more stringent than social media. We highly recommend that any design you have made yourself or commissioned is reviewed by the marketing department before going to print.
  • What color can my Danberry Logo be?
Great Question! In accordance with Danberry's brand guidelines, your logo may be black, white, or Danberry Blue. Any other color is a violation of our brand's visual guidlines. A Background can be added in the ovals but the only acceptable color is white.
  • Can I resize the Danberry Logo?
Yes! You are more than welcome to resize the Danberry logo as needed. With that in mind make sure you do so at its original proportions. Skew, warp, filtering, or lowering the resolution of the file past what would be considered "Good Quality" is discouraged. We ask that when using the Danberry logo, as well as your own, you use the highest quality file available to maintain the integrity of the brand.
  • Can I use an older Danberry Logo?
Just as technology, fashion trends, and popular culture change, so do design trends. The logos below served Danberry well, but are no longer being used to shape our brand. Please discontinue use of any of the following. The tagline "We make it worry free." has also been retired for use. When using a tagline in relationship to the Danberry brand, please use our new tagline "Home Starts Here." instead. Thank you for continuing to aid in making our brand the best that it can be!
  • Can I use a personal agent logo?
Yes. You are welcome to use a personal agent logo on your marketing materials. Please use your best judgement when utilizing personal logos. If you have questions we are happy to answer them! Print regulations are more stringent than social media. We highly recommend that any design you have made yourself or commissioned is reviewed by the marketing department before going to print.
  • Can I use a personal agent logo as a member of a team?
Potentially. You should talk with your team leader. If they allow you to, remember you must follow visual hierarchy with the danberry, team, and personal logo.
  • Can I make physical materials with only my logo?
No. When creating tshirts, cups, mugs, and other merchandise, you must follow branding guidelines that are present in other marketing mediums.
  • Can I add a title or tagline to my personal agent logo?
Yes! But a few things to remember: REALTOR® - Any time you use REALTOR® all caps it must contain the registered "®" mark. To type that symbol for Mac Users "Option"+"R" and for PC Users "Alt"+ "0174" on your keyboard. Real Estate or Real Estate Agent(s)? - You cannot use any broad term such as "real estate", "realty", or "homes" in your personal or team logos / name because it could create confusion. To keep things clear you are able to use titles such as "Realtor", "REALTOR®", or "Real Estate Agent". For groups you could use verbiage such as "Team", "Group" or "Realtors". Taglines - You are welcome to use a tagline with your personal agent logo. Keep in mind the rules listed above about making it clear that you are an agent and not a broker. Also keep in mind the legibilty of your tagline when used in print, social media, and larger formats. Using a tagline might not be best all the time, make sure you have a version with and without!
  • Can I use any photo from the MLS in my marketing?
No. You cannot use any photo you have downloaded from the MLS in your personal agent marketing. You must recieve written permission from the listing agent who provided those photos. In the event you were on the buyers side, or need an image and are unable to obtain permission, we reccomend you take a picture of the home yourself with the homeowners permission.
  • Do I need to include my name on my marketing materials?
Any property marketing materials must contain the name of a licensed real estate agent. For example, If the "Design House Real Estate Group" has a logo, and they are making a flyer they cannot only include a logo. There must have a name of an agent from that group also included on the flyer.
  • Can I advertise properties sold in a neigborhood that are not my own?
Yes, but only if you make it clear you were not the listing or buyers agent on those publications. You must site your source of the property transactions such as a data system or MLS pull. If you are a buyers agent advertising the sale of a home, make it clear you were on the buyers side of that transaction with a quick side note.
  • Can I include pictures of my sign or name rider on my MLS submission?
No, your MLS submission must be completely unbranded. This includes removing business cards, flyers and open house signs that could be captured in the process of a photographer documenting that listing. Make sure to discuss the removal of these items with your clients prior to photos.
  • Can I edit my listing photos to be more presentable?
No. The only edits that may be made to property images or video are corrections to lighting and corrective coloring. Anything that is the condition of a home, such as a scratch, dent, stain, or hole must remain present in the image.
  • What am I required to include when I market?
The Danberry Name / Logo You are required to include Danberry's name or logo in any personal agent marketing you create or use in accordance with visual hierarchy. If you have questions on this, see the "Logos" section. Licensed in Michigan? You are required to include the Temperance office address or office phone number on any materials that will be used to market in Michigan. If you are dual licensed it is not just your office address, it is the michigan office information. Contact Info There is no set contact info (for Ohio at least) that you must have present other than the name of a licensed real estate agent. We highly recommend though that you include some way to contact you on all of your marketing materials.
  • Do I have to use a headshot?
No, you are not required to use a headshot when creating your marketing materials. We do encourage that you do use one though, at least on your personal agent website, to help consumers place a face with a name. Allowing your clients to know who they are meeting will help them feel safe, and more confident when meeting in person.
  • When should I get a new headshot?
Did you know that Danberry provides all it's agents with one FREE in-studio headshot every year?! Headshots can easily cost $150 and up elsewhere. While you are more than welcome to go elsewhere to get a brand new pic, don't let cost or accessibility be your reason for using one that is out of date. Ask yourself... Has it been more than 3 years since my last headshot? Am I able to use my headshot and recieve a good quality product in print, digital, and other marketing materials? Can I find my headshot file, do I have one at all? Do I have a headshot that works on multiple backgrounds? If not it's okay to be using multiple headshots should the need arise! Did you recently change up your hair, smile, or style? That's so exciting! Let your clients know by replacing your headshot online.

  • Where should I start when it comes to marketing?
Contact information! That goes for you and for your clients. You will not have an easy start if you do not know where you will be sending people or even who the people are you need to market too. Make sure you have a solid database of at least 20 people to get you started. Remember to collect name, phone number, email, and address. Speak with your manager more about who in your sphere would be a great contact!
